Dorothy A. Pedro 1934-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Dorothy A. Pedro, a beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug, 17, 2005, at the age of 91, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Dorothy was born June 5, 1934, in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Helen Metuoski Kluska.
She spent her early years in Youngstown, where she cultivated her passion for life and fostered close connections within her community.
She was a devoted wife to Frank Pedro, who passed away in 1986. She was a proud mother to her children, Karen and Frank and John, and she treasured her role as a grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Dorothy’s first job was working at Castle Jewelry, which later became Ace Diamonds. She then worked as a cleaner for the Beeghly Center at YSU.
But perhaps her most cherished passion was her devotion to Elvis Presley. His music was a constant source of joy, and she could often be found humming along or sharing stories about her favorite songs and memories of the legendary singer. Her love for his music brought a unique rhythm to her life, a melody that will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew her. She could always be found following her favorite Elvis impersonator, Ronnie Rivera.
Family was everything to her, and her legacy of love, kindness and unwavering support will continue to inspire generations.
Dorothy will be deeply missed and always remembered by her daughter, Karen Pedro-Walsh; her son, Frank Pedro; her grandchildren, Robert Torres, Shannon and Bonnie Pedro; her great-grandchildren, Bobby, Nathan and Joey Torres; her great-great-grandchild, Ariella Torres; her sister, Joann (John) Cummings; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank and her son, John Pedro.
The Pedro family has entrusted Dorothy’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, where calling hours will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, followed by a funeral service at noon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman.
Dorothy will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
