Donald L. Wells 1949-2025

He was born Feb. 16, 1949, in Youngstown, to Lewis and Rosemary Ripple Wells. He remained a lifelong resident of Austintown.

An avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, Donald found great joy in hunting with his son and grandson. His pursuits included whitetail deer, turkey, mule deer, elk and bear. He also competed in archery and bowling leagues, and enjoyed gardening and helping with projects at the church. In quieter moments, he could often be found watching NASCAR, football or hockey.

Above all else, Donald cherished time spent with family and friends.

Donald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Wells; his son, Donald (Wendy) Wells; and his grandson, Hunter Wells. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie (Bob) Hall, and brother, Keith (Chris) Wells.

Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda Scoville, Cindy Scott, Patricia Wells and Darlene Scott; and brothers, Timothy Wells, Gary Wells and Jeff Wells.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 16, at Emmanuel Community Church, 6512 Kirk Road, Canfield, OH 44406. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.
