Dianne C. Borzick 1933-2025

NORTH LIMA — Dianne C. Borzick, 91, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her residence.

Born Aug. 2, 1933, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Wayne Warner and Jennie Bartram Warner. Dianne graduated from Springfield Local High School in 1951 and went on to attend cosmetology school, starting her career as a hairdresser.

She was small in stature, but had a very large personality! She spoke her mind, was strong, feisty and passionate about the people and things in her life. She was a perfectionist to the end!

Before getting married, she spent a lot of time at Geneva-on-the-Lake with her family, riding motorcycles with her brother and enjoying the Canfield Fair. She loved traveling with friends and exploring much of the country in the family RV. Her summer days were spent at the pool with family and friends.

She was an exceptional cook and baker. Her wedding soup, salad dressing, clothespin cookies, pies and homemade lemonade were everyone’s favorites, but her chocolate fudge birthday cakes were legendary. She loved hosting holiday parties, picnics at The Farm and anything else that brought her family together. In her later years, she enjoyed being a nanny to several children who called her “Grammy.”

In earlier years, she devoted much of her time to Springfield Local Schools as a booster member, cafeteria manager and school board member. She continued to be an avid fan of the Tigers, and even the day before her passing, she was asking how the football team was looking this year. Her Saturday afternoons in the fall were spent watching or listening to YSU football games.

Dianne was also an avid bowler for more than 50 years and worked the polls for the Board of Elections.

It was sitting in front of a slot machine that always made her happy, even happier if she was winning!

But it was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she enjoyed the most in life. She never missed a football game, soccer game, basketball game, cross-country meet, track meet, lacrosse match or any school function that involved her loved ones. As the great-grandchildren came along, she held them close just to study their faces as her eyesight declined.

Our grief is softened knowing that she is together again with our dad, the love of her life.

Dianne’s legacy continues through her family, including her daughters, Raedine (Paul) Hulea and Rhonda (Michael) Black; and her son, Drew (Sarah) Borzick. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren, Kelsey, Gannon (Kelli), Kyle, Colin (Megan), Dresden and Delaney; and will be remembered fondly as a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Dianne is reunited in eternity with her late husband, Paul A. Borzick, who passed away in 1991; as well as her daughter, Shelly Borzick; sister, Marlyn Ornstein; brother, Bob Warner; and her parents.

Visitation will take place 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home-Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road, Youngstown, OH 44514.

A funeral service will follow 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family requests any monetary gifts be sent to the Springfield Athletic Boosters, c/o Springfield Local School District, P.O. Box 549, New Middletown, OH 44442.

Arrangements are entrusted to Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
