Daniel G. Moison Sr. 1947-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Daniel G. Moison Sr. passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, at the age of 78.

Born Feb. 28, 1947, in Bath, Maine, a son to the late Theodore and Marilyn Albrecht Moison, Daniel was a graduate of McDonald High School.

His remarkable career spanned over 40 years at AT&T, where he filled many positions before retiring in 2012. Daniel’s AT&T family lovingly knew him as “Sparky.” His family and colleagues knew him for his great work ethic and commitment to excellence.

In addition to his professional achievements, Daniel proudly served in the United States Army as a medic during the Vietnam War.

Daniel had a passion for various hobbies and interests that brought joy to his life. He enjoyed fishing and had a particular fondness for watching black and white Western movies. An avid sports fan, he regularly attended Youngstown State University football games and was a devoted supporter of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.

Daniel is survived by his two sons, Daniel G. (Krystal) Moison II of Howland and Brad Moison of Youngstown; his sister, Beverly Wooley of Rome; and his brother, Kim Moison of Niles; as well as his grandchildren, Chloe Moison and Daniel Moison III.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Lynn Moison, whom he married July 26, 1969, and with whom he lived happily until her passing on Oct. 21, 2024.

Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.

Further visitation will occur 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at Howland Community Church in Warren, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

Daniel will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
