Colin W. Conklin 2004-2025

KENT — Colin William Conklin, 21, passed away tragically Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.
Born Feb. 23, 2004, Colin was a bright, adventurous and kind-hearted young man who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. His spirit was full of optimism, and he approached life with a genuine love for people, animals and the world around him.
He was a 2022 graduate of Mathews High School, where he played the tenor sax in the marching band. Colin also played in the YSU Marching Band for one year before transferring to Kent State.
Colin had a deep passion for music, his car, riding dirt bikes and his motorcycle. He looked forward to riding with his family every summer at Mountain Ridge. His love for animals led him to pursue a degree in marine biology, and he was set to return to Kent State University in the fall to continue chasing his dreams.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his parents, Josh (Brittany) Conklin of Youngstown and Stacey (Troy) Ruminski of Cortland. Colin also is survived by his siblings, Parker and Ava Conklin of Vienna, Kyleigh, Lauren and Chesney Sierra, Dominic Wilson of Youngstown and Bryce Ruminski of Cortland. He leaves behind his grandparents, Linda Conklin, Dawn Hewis, Jim (Cheryl) Bishop and Shari Bishop, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Colin was deeply loved by his girlfriend, Mya MacGregor, and her parents, Matt and Stacy, who treated Colin as part of their family.
Colin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Conklin.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and all who were lucky enough to know him. Colin’s joyful energy, big heart and adventurous spirit made the world a better place.
A celebration of life will be held for family and friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.
