Charles C. Carnes 1972-2025

Born July 20, 1972, Charles was known for his unwavering work ethic and his childlike spirit that could bring laughter to any room and made him a joy to be around. He was always the first to offer help to a friend in need, touching many lives with his kindness.

His family and close friends are deeply saddened and heavily grieving over Chuck’s life being cut short.

Chuck was a nearly 30-year member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, where he was dedicated to his employers at BOG Construction and Johnny’s Excavating. With just one year left until his retirement, he continued to play a vital role in supporting the teams he worked with.

He took great joy in his hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, all-terrain trail riding trips with friends, riding his motorcycle and running with his wife. Charles was often found in his garage, surrounded by friends or making his home a welcoming place for anyone who wanted to come and enjoy the fruits of his labors on his beautiful property. Sunday Funday was a real thing in the Carnes’ household for many years.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Deborah “Deb” Carnes; daughter, Nicole Padgitt; mother, Sandy Fiordalis; sister, Lisa (Jim) Skillman; nephew, James; niece, Morgan; and three great-nephews. He is also survived by multiple aunts, uncles and cousins whom he cared very much about.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irving “Pooch” Carnes, and his grandparents.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and hard work that will be cherished by so many.

A celebration in honor of Chuck’s life will be 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at Mahoning County Coon Hunter’s Club, 9680 Akron Canfield Road, Canfield, OH 44406.

This gathering will serve as a testament to his vibrant spirit and the profound impact he had on anyone who knew him.
