Bernice B. Drahos 1937-2025

Together again
HUBBARD — Bernice B. Drahos, 88, passed away surrounded by her family, Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Bernice was born May 28, 1937, in Youngstown, a daughter of Louis and Justine Pacai Svabik. She was a 1955 graduate of The Rayen School.
Bernice worked in the office at Records Furniture Company in Youngstown and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church for 50 years. She enjoyed going on fishing trips to Canada.
She married James Drahos, whom she fell in love with at first sight, on Dec. 31, 1965. He passed away Jan. 14, 2015.
She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters, Tammy Lopez (Dr. Frank Petrakos) of Boardman, Pamela (Rick) Alabed of Boardman and Lynette Drahos of Hubbard; five grandchildren, Justin (Coleen), Taylor, Alexa, Amir and Logan; and two great-grandchildren, Leo and Tegan. She also leaves her brother, Thomas (Bonnie) Svabik of Brookfield.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Veronica Svabik. Private services were held at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.
Bernice was laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
