Anthony J. Bonace 1950-2025

LOWELLVILLE — Anthony James Bonace, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on Nov. 4, 1950, in New Castle, Pa., Anthony was the beloved son of the late Alfred and Annie Maravola Bonace. He graduated from Mohawk High School in 1969, where he set a track record and proudly held a place on the school’s Wall of Awards.
Anthony was a man of deep passions. He loved his Harley-Davidsons and found joy in the open road, riding with the wind and feeling at one with nature. He lived well, laughed often and loved deeply.
His children were his greatest joy and their love filled his life and gave it meaning. Through them, he felt his purpose was fulfilled. Anthony left this world a better place by the way he lived — never failing to admire the beauty around him or to share that appreciation with others. A smile from him was like sunshine, his voice the sound of many waters and his hugs were like the wind.
He sought out the good in people and gave the best of himself. His greatest gift to those around him was his unwavering belief in them. His smile could light up a room, his voice brought calm and comfort and his hugs were unforgettable.
Anthony was intelligent, generous and honorable — a rare and steady soul. To those who loved him, he seemed invincible. Now, he rides free. His love remains forever etched in our hearts and he will be missed — always and forever.
He is survived by his loving children, their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry his legacy forward.
He is also survived by his brothers, Johnny Bonace and Carmen Torok; and his sister, Tina Bonace Shaffer, and their spouses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Bonace Jr.; his sister, Theresa Bonace Shaffer; an infant daughter; and an infant great-grandson.
In keeping with Anthony’s wishes, services were held privately with his family.
