Sealenia D. Jornigan 1954-2025

GIRARD — With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life of service and love, we announce the passing of Sealenia Deneise Jornigan, who departed this life on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on Jan. 28, 1954, in Youngstown, Sealenia was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her strong yet gentle spirit, and the love she extended to all who had the joy of knowing her.

For over 30 years, Sealenia proudly served her community as a school bus driver. She didn’t just drive — she cared. Each morning and afternoon, she carried generations of children safely to and from school, treating every child as if they were her own. Her bus was more than just transportation, it was a place of warmth, safety and smiles. To countless families, she became a trusted, familiar presence and a lifelong memory in the lives of their children.

Sealenia is survived by her loving husband of many years, Jim Jornigan; her daughter, Robin (Buddy) Estes; her son, Adam (Tabitha) Jornigan; six cherished grandchildren; three great-grandchildren — with one more to arrive; her four siblings, Jay (Linda) Welch, Gary Welch, Shelia (George) Cornell and Sharon Rudisill; her sister-in-law, Kim Welch; and many nieces and nephews.

She now reunites in peace with her beloved parents, Dorothy and James, and her siblings who passed before her, Eddie Welch and Sandy Boccieri.

“God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.”

She also leaves behind a legacy of love that lives on in the hearts of the children she served, the friends she made and the family she held so dear.

Though she may no longer be behind the wheel, her journey of love and service will never be forgotten.

“Her love didn’t stop with her own — it overflowed into life she touched. A mother not just by blood, but by heart, to all who knew her.”

Per Sealenia’s wishes, there will be no services.
