Rose M. Anderson 1929-2025

POLAND — Rose Mary Anderson, 95, passed away peacefully Friday evening, June 27, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born Sept. 30, 1929, in Youngstown, Rose Mary was the daughter of the late Nick and Minnie DiCristofaro Troll.

Rose Mary married the love of her life, Roy Anderson, on Nov. 8, 1948. Together, they shared 72 years of marriage before his passing on March 28, 2021.

Rose Mary became a licensed practical nurse on March 29, 1958. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, taking care of newborn babies in the nursery. Her proudest moments were giving her grandchildren their first baths. Rose Mary retired in 1991 from St. Elizabeth Hospital after 35 years as a licensed practical nurse.

She was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, where she was active in its Ladies Guild.

Left behind to cherish Rose Mary’s memory are four daughters, Darlene (Geoff) Knight of Hudson, Deborah (Robert) Hooks of Youngstown, Denise (Edward) Moore of Boardman and Doreen Anderson of Youngstown; eight grandchildren, Kimberlee (Mike) Hanophy, Kevin Knight, Paul (Sharon) Moore, Rebecca (Jacob) Waddell, Sarah (Kevin) Perrotta, Ryan Kelty, Ross (Amber) Kelty and Rachel (Patrick) Kelty; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces.

Other than her parents and her husband, Rose Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Troll.

Rose Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and beloved friend to many. In her younger years, she loved going bowling. Later in life, she enjoyed trips to the casino, playing Shanghai rummy around the kitchen table with family, and her bingo nights. Sunday spaghetti was a simple tradition that became the center of so many memories.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman.

A funeral service will be held at noon at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Greg and the staff at Hampton Woods for their compassionate care and unwavering support during this time. Special gratitude also goes to Frannie from Ohio Living for her kindness and dedication, which brought great comfort to our loved one. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
