Robert C. Deming 1937-2025
SANDUSKY — Robert C. Deming, 88, formerly of Canfield, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Admirals Pointe Nursing Facility in Sandusky.
Born May 13, 1937, in Youngstown, Robert was the son of the late Leroy and Jessie Mitchell Deming.
He spent many dedicated years working at McKenzie Muffler and later at Metalcrafts, retiring after more than 20 years of service.
Robert had a passion for classic cars, especially the ’57 Chevy, and spent countless hours restoring them alongside his brother-in-law. He loved attending car shows, SWAP meets and the Canfield Super Nationals. A longtime bowling enthusiast, Robert was a member of the former Golden Dawn Bowling Team. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors.
On June 22, 1963, he married his beloved wife, Joan Haluska Deming, who preceded him in death on June 16, 2017.
Robert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Kimberly Deming of Sandusky; and two granddaughters, Renee Harris and Sarah Deming. He also leaves behind two sisters, Florence “Vi” Pace of San Antonio, Texas, and Letitia Hull of Youngstown.
In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert Deming; granddaughter, Emily Deming; and sister, Vicki Miller.
Family and friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2025, at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
