Naomi Boano 1936-2025

She was born Sept. 7, 1936, in New Castle, Pa., one of 16 children of the Rev. George Rusu Sr. and Bessie Johnson Rusu. The family later moved to Youngstown, where she grew up and attended school.

Jane married Jack Boano Jr. on Dec. 5, 1953, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2003.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a Realtor with Hertzog Realty in New Middletown. She was part of the numerous businesses she shared with her husband, Jack.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Brooks and Linda (Michael) Hoza; grandchildren, Karrie Rotunno, Andrew Rotunno Jr., Alana (Michael Kenyhercj) Brooks, Ashley (Derek) Ornelas and Adrienne (Charles) Wiley; great-grandchildren, Amber Rotunno, Brandon Rotunno, Dominic Woodward, Allie Rotunno, Giovanni Rotunno, Lyla Ornelas and baby Orneslas, due in August.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Boano Jr.; a daughter, Jackie Rotunno; grandchild, Amy Rotunno; and son-in-law, Andrew Rotunno Sr.

In accordance to her wishes, a private graveside service was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Coitsville, where she was laid to rest next to her husband.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
