Joyce A. Polovischak 1958-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Joyce A. Polovischak, 67, fought the good fight, finished the race and kept her faith. She passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Born June 23, 1958, in Youngstown, Joyce was a daughter of William and Mildred Kizar Polovischak and lived in the area most of her life, with brief periods living in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Columbus. She was a graduate of Chaney High School.
Joyce worked for a time as a nurse’s aide before moving to Washington, D.C., to work for the FBI. She later returned to Youngstown, where she served in law enforcement with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department and the Hubbard Police Department.
In her younger years, she was a member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Jason Godfrey (Kylie); two granddaughters, Taylor and Leigha; her sister, Janice Millican of Columbus; and many cousins.
Joyce had a deep love for animals and leaves behind two cherished companions, Kobie and Rose.
Per Joyce’s request, there are no calling hours or services. Private interment took place in Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
