Joseph Davies Jr. 1945-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Joseph Davies Jr., 79, passed away peacefully July 20, 2025, at Hospice House after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 6, 1945, in Cleveland, to Joseph and Dolly Davies.
Known as “Bart” to all who knew him, in his youth he moved with his parents to Garrettsville to establish a family farm. Later in life, he resided in Mahoning County, where he continued his lifelong journey of positively impacting the lives of those around him. He had a charm, love of life, kindness and a laugh that drew people to want to be his friend and family.
Bart was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams and a student of history (most notably the Civil War). He read anything he could get his hands on, enjoyed old Westerns and, especially, traveling.
Bart is survived by many close friends. He would surely want special mention of Carol Kitt and Barb Morgan, who provided him with a lifetime of kindness and concern, without which he could not have impacted so many others.
Per Bart’s wishes, he will be buried alongside his parents at Harrington Cemetery in Garrettsville.
Friends are invited for a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, located at 4303 Mahoning Ave. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the memorial service starting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are entrusted to Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
