Jenny Melnik 1949-2025
CAMPBELL — Jenny Melnik, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Liberty Health Care in Youngstown.
Jenny was born Sept. 11, 1949, in Youngstown, a daughter of Stanley and Elizabeth Racz Melnik.
She was a 1967 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School.
Jenny was a former member of St. Joseph the Provider Church in Campbell until its closing, and she then joined St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Jenny was a self-employed beautician at Jennifer’s (her own business). The building had a fire, and after that, Jenny worked doing hair part-time. She then worked at Buechner Hall at YSU as a housekeeper. Jenny also worked as a home health aide for Comfort Keepers until her health declined.
She was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Yankees and Notre Dame. She loved Elvis, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond and The Trans Siberian Orchestra.
Jenny leaves to cherish her memory, her sister-in-law, Karen Melnik; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; a few great-great nephews; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Jeannette Farnic, Patricia Kasey and Hope Melnik; her brothers, Stanley “Staush” Melnik and Michael “Putney” Melnik. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Mitchel McCarthyand her brother-in-law, James Kasey.
The Melnik family has entrusted Jenny’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
Calling hours will be 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., officiated by the Very Rev. Michael Balash.
Jenny will be laid to rest in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
