Jane C. Martin 1949-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Jane C. Martin, 76, passed away peacefully Monday, July 7, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 23, 1949, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Harry and Wilma O’Neill Zimmerman. She graduated from Chaney High School and attended Youngstown State University. She worked for Erie Lackawanna Railroad in both Youngstown and Cleveland.
As the oldest sister in her family, she naturally took on a role of strength, guidance and care. She resided for many years in Sanford, Florida, before returning to Youngstown. Later in life, she moved to Assumption Village Assisted Living and eventually to the nursing home, where she lived for 11 years. Even as her surroundings changed, her warm and welcoming spirit remained constant.
Earlier in life, she loved boating adventures with her children and hosting lively pizza parties that became cherished traditions.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and while living in Florida, she was an active member of her church community. Through all stages of her life, she offered kindness, warmth and companionship — gifts that those around her will always treasure.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Mark (Lisa) Brocious of Dallas, Georgia, and Audrey (Justin) Loadholtz of Orange Park, Florida; her grandchildren, Christopher and Lily Brocious, and Hannah and Daniel Loadholtz; her sisters, Wilma (Rob) O’Donnell of Newton Falls and Nancy (Ken) Croutch of Youngstown; and her sister-in-law, Cathy Zimmerman of Boardman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry C. Zimmerman.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, at St. Christine Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
