James T. Weller Jr. 1958-2025 and Ronnie L. Weller 1957-2025

HUBBARD — It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the untimely passing of James T. Weller Jr. and his wife, Ronnie L. Weller, on Monday, June 30, 2025.
James T. Weller Jr. was born Feb. 17, 1958, in Youngstown, a son of James T. Sr. and Geraldine Lynch Weller. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and attended Youngstown State University.
James was the CEO and President of Liberty Steel Industries. Jim was raised in Liberty by two exceptional parents who taught Jim and his three sisters the importance of faith and family.
He enjoyed being outside and riding his bike growing up. He was a hobbyist pilot and ended up selling his plane for a race car. Racing was something that he would later share with his older son Jimmy. Jim, from a young age, seemed to excel in anything he tried.
Jim met his wife, Ronnie, through Liberty Steel, and the rest is history. Their love for each other was obvious to anyone who knew them. They had a beautiful life together with their two sons, Jimmy and Johnny. So much love between the four of them and their love for God helped them through a racing accident that occurred with their son Jimmy.
Jim and Ronnie always remained down-to-earth and giving under any circumstances. Jim had a tough exterior, but in reality, he had the biggest heart and always looked for the good in others.
Some of his hobbies outside of work and family life included water skiing, snowboarding, racing, going for motorcycle rides, welding, creating things and fly fishing — all of which he seemed to naturally pick up and do so well at. He never bragged about it and always offered to help teach others and lend a hand. Jim and his never-ending wisdom will be missed by so many.
He was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish.
Jim will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his son, James (Katie) Weller III; and his grandchildren, Ellie and Charlie. He also leaves his mother, Geraldine Weller; his siblings, Sue (Peter) Simpson of Okeechobee, Florida, Jill Weller of Cincinnati and Amy (Scott) Wagner of Zionsville, Indiana; and nieces and nephews, Kati, Joe, Mandy, Erik, Allison, Hillary, Annie, Harry, Andrew and Sophie.
Besides his father, he died tragically with his wife, Ronnie, son John, and daughter-in-law Maria.
Ronnie L. Weller was born April 1, 1957, in Youngstown, a daughter of John M. and Shirley D. Jones Kollar.
She was a graduate of Hubbard High School. She was raised in Youngstown and lived her entire life with such an unshakeable faith in God. She and her brother and sister
all shared a great bond and were raised to be devoted to God and their family. These things stuck with Ronnie throughout her entire life. Every miracle, everything, Ronnie would be thankful and pray over her family and loved ones. Raising her two children with Jim was the best part of her life; she loved her sons without end and always put her family first ahead of any of her needs.
She was involved in charities and gave aid to those in need. After the tragic accident with her oldest son, Jimmy, her faith in God grew. She embodies what everyone should strive to be a great wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She loved the snow, winter and Christmastime to celebrate Jesus and family. She loved cutting grass and being outside. Her granddaughters were the light of her life, and over the past five years, she gave so much to make sure they knew how much they were loved. Ronnie was a person who only comes around once in a lifetime, and if you knew her, you knew what a blessing that she truly was.
She was a member of St. Edward Church.
Ronnie will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family: her son, James (Katie) Weller III; and her grandchildren, Ellie and Charlie. She also leaves her siblings, John (Chris) Kollar Jr. of McDonald and Joanie Bulmer of Hubbard; and nieces, Janel, Michelle, Stephanie and Kelly.
Besides her father and mother, father-in-law James Weller Sr., she died tragically with her husband Jim, son John and daughter-in-law Maria.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at St. Columba Cathedral, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Siffrin officiating.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
