Glenn E. Dorhn 1954-2025
AUSTINTOWN — Glenn E. Dorhn, 71, died unexpectedly late Wednesday afternoon, July 23, 2025, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 3, 1954, in Warren, a son of Edward J. and Thelma A. Howe Dorhn.
Glenn was a 1972 graduate of Grand Valley High School in Orwell and worked as a chief engineer for the U.S. Merchant Marine at Dann Marine in Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, for 15 years.
He married the former Wilma I. Almasi on Sept. 10, 2015. Together, they shared almost 10 years of marriage and many wonderful memories. She survives him.
Glenn enjoyed working, especially rebuilding tractors. He also enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley and trying his luck at the casinos. He was a published author and wrote several books.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. Glenn was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his wife, Glenn is survived by 11 children, Shannon Pfrenger, Glenn Dorhn Jr., Heather Naftzger, Kyle Dorhn, Barry (Tabbitha) DeMattia, Jason DeMattia, Kara Ainsley, Johnathan Dorhn, Hailey (Tyson) Clisby, Devin (Jamie) Almasi and Derreck (Tracy) Almasi. He also leaves behind a brother, Paul (Linda) Dorhn of Orwell; a sister, Marsha Shannon of Rome, Ohio; 30 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four grandsons, Cash, Trenton, Dennis and Ethan.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown.
Friends may call one hour prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest in Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Glenn’s memory.
