Frederick H. Stringer 1947-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Mr. Frederick Henry Stringer, 78, transitioned from this earthly labor to eternal peace Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Fred was born Feb. 7, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of John Henry and Arbeautice Speed Stringer.

He was a 1965 graduate of North High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Fred had been employed as a supervisor with Delphi Packard Electric, retiring after over 30 years of service.

Fred was a man of deep faith, and he had worshiped with the community at Believers Church. He was an avid golfer and a fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers. He had a deep love for jazz and a beautiful voice that he shared at family gatherings and church events as a soloist.

A loving family man, Fred will also be remembered as a kind neighbor and beloved community member who took pride in maintaining his beautifully landscaped yard on the North Side of Youngstown. Most recently, he completed a longtime dream of publishing his book, which he titled “Stringer’s Dash.”

He leaves to mourn his passing, but to celebrate his life and legacy, his wife, the former Renee Johnson, whom he married in March 1992; two children, Kevin (Jennifer) Stringer of Indianapolis and Nicole Stringer of Youngstown; three grandchildren, Chaz, Autumn and Sebastian; his siblings, Gwendolyn (Joseph) Saunders and Arbor (Robert) Hughes, both of Youngstown, and Anthony (Sandra) Stringer of Blue Springs, Missouri; three godchildren, Rayonna Rice of Dallas, Trinity Bell of Alabama and Jonathan Frost of Solon; and a host of loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at Rising Star Baptist Church, 2943 Wardle Ave., Youngstown. Funeral services will follow at noon.
