Fannie Lou Martin 1934-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Ms. Fannie Lou Martin, 90, transitioned from this life to eternal rest on Monday, July 7, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Ms. Martin was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Columbia, South Carolina, a daughter of James W. Sr. and Ella Mae Brooks Rogers.

She had been employed with Mahoning County Job and Family Services, retiring after 20 years of service.

Fannie was a dedicated and faithful member of Temple Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church, its usher ministry and culinary committee.

She enjoyed cooking and working in her yard with her plants and flowers.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory, two children, James E. Martin Sr. of Cleveland and Patricia Ann Martin of Youngstown; nine grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Charlotte Gibbs of Youngstown; and a host of family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Martin; her siblings, Essie Mae Freeman, Barbara L. Robinson, James Jr., Charles, Robert L., James D. and Eugene Rogers; a grandson, Tony Anthony Watkins; and a great-grandson, Antwon Martinez.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Temple Emmanuel SDA Church, 108 W. Indianola Ave., Youngstown. Funeral services will follow at noon.
