Elaine C. Bauer 1935-2025

POLAND — Elaine Christina Bauer was called home Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Elaine was born one of 10 children on Aug. 10, 1935, to Regina Beichner Bauer and Ambrose Bauer in Lucinda, Pa.

After attending North Clarion High School, Elaine helped her parents with their dairy farm until entering the Benedictine Convent, where she served our Lord as Sister Justine.

She moved to Florida, where she continued to do God’s work as a CNA at Lutheran Haven Nursing Home, from where she retired.

Elaine relocated to Poland to be with her twin sister, Germaine Dobrich, and niece, Diane Graham, in 2023.

Elaine loved to build puzzles, and play bingo and card games. She loved being surrounded by family, especially the children.

Even in retirement, Elaine continued to do God’s work by acts of charity.

She was very generous to many foundations around the world.

Elaine is survived by her twin sister, Germaine Dobrich of Poland; her brother and sister-in-law, Regis and Peg Bauer; sister, Nancy Zdeb; sisters-in-law, Agnes Bauer and Lucille Bauer; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Joseph Selker; sister and brother-in-law, Deloris and Doug Witmore; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Bernie Banner; brother, Dennis Bauer; brother, Gerard Bauer; brother and sister-in-law, Clair and Dorothy Bauer; and brother-in-law, Steve Dobrich.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 112 Rectory Lane, P.O. Box 9, Lucinda, PA 16235.

Special thanks to nephew Dwayne and Helen Ochs for taking such good care of Elaine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at St. Joseph Church, 112 Rectory Lane, Lucinda, PA 16235, celebrated by Father Cory Pius.
