Deborah E. Wilson 1949-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Deborah E. Wilson, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Oasis Care Center for Rehabilitation & Healing.
She was born April 23, 1949, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John “Jack” and Ruth Jones Wilson. She graduated from Struthers High School in 1967. She became an LPN and started working for St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1973. It was something she took great pride in, so much so that she earned Employee of the Year in 2008. She retired in 2013.
Her life was marked by creativity, service and an unwavering dedication to others. She loved the spotlight and embraced it with enthusiasm, performing in community plays at the Playhouse and singing at weddings whenever asked. Her voice was both beautiful and heartfelt, and she found real joy in sharing it with others. In 1993, she was honored to serve as chaplain for the Masonic Order, a role that allowed her to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada, offering spiritual guidance and support.
Beyond her talents, she was known for her tireless energy and generous spirit. A devoted home health caregiver, she treated every patient like family and often went beyond her duties to care for those in need. Whether it was helping a neighbor, supporting a friend or showing up for a loved one, she was always there – reliable, compassionate and full of heart. Her life was a true reflection of love in action, and her legacy of kindness lives on in all those she touched.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters, Cassie (Christopher) Kemper and Laurie Wilson; grandchildren, Carter, Noah, Gabe, Jaxson and Eleanora; nephew, Christopher (Lauren) Wilson; niece, Jackie Wilson-Biola; as well as many extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Wilson.
A memorial celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Bethel Lutheran Church, with a luncheon to follow.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
