Robert P. Ellis 1963-2025

Born March 24, 1963, to the late Robert and Helen Carano Ellis, Robert was a devoted husband, father and friend. Robert was a graduate of Girard High School.

On May 10, 1997, he married the love of his life, Melissa Protain Ellis, and together they built a life full of love, laughter and music.

A proud supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Robert was known for his deep love of classic rock music and cherished time spent with his family. He spent many days bonding with his daughter, Lauryn, over his love of music. He found joy in simple pleasures — especially his favorite trips to the beach — and was happiest with his pets by his side: dogs, Luna and Buttons, and his beloved cat, Foxy.

Robert had a strong work ethic and held various positions throughout his life, earning the respect and friendship of many. Owning Royal Porcelain was one of his proudest accomplishments. His love and loyalty extended beyond his own family to his wife’s family, whose support meant the world to him.

The family is especially grateful to Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care during his final days.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Lauryn Ellis, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025, at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, 5795 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH 44515, with a funeral service to follow at 6 p.m.

Robert will be remembered for his warmth, his passion for music and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
