Pamela J. Corso 1957-2025

CANFIELD — Pamela Jo “Pam” Corso, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday afternoon, May 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer.
Pam will be forever remembered for her kindness, gentleness, attention to detail and her unwavering willingness to help others. A calming presence and a reliable friend, she touched many lives with her warmth and compassion and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on April 24, 1957, in Warren, the daughter of the late Anthony and Madeline Vinchwater Corso. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1975 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Pam continued her education at Youngstown State University, majoring in accounting. Her career in administration and accounting spanned more than 51 years.
She began her professional journey with Dart Trucking, where she dedicated over 24 years, and continued to serve with several other businesses until her retirement in 2024.
Pam had many passions that brought her joy throughout her life. She loved baking homemade pies and cookies, ballroom dancing, traveling during the winter months to their family home in Naples, Florida, and boating in Florida and on Lake Erie along with riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
She is survived by the love of her life and devoted companion of more than 20 years, Bob Elias of Canfield; her brother, Anthony (Chris) Corso of Howland; nephews, James (Nikki) Soda of Florida and Anthony Corso (fiancee Dana Zinz) of Warren; nieces, Pamela (Christopher) Soda Gray of Berea and Erica (Scott) Arty of Richfield; great-nieces, Harper and Arianna; and great-nephew, Elliot. Pam also leaves Bob’s family, whom she cherished as her own: son, John Elias of Canfield; daughter, Jodi (Shawn) Nyahay of Lancaster; grandchildren, Dr. Mackenzie Elias, Stone (Olivia) Elias, Connor Nyahay and Casey Nyahay; sister, Michelle Elias; as well as many cousins, friends, and colleagues whose lives she touched and inspired.
In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Roslyn “Roz” Soda.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, in the chapel at St. Catherine of Siena Parish — St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Very Rev. Monsignor John Zuraw, J.C.L., V.G.
Private burial will take place at Niles City Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Pam’s caregivers, Cathy Viole, Casey Nyahay and Michelle Elias, as well as Hospice of the Valley, for their exceptional care and compassion during Pam’s illness.
