Mary Lee A. McClure 1945-2025

STRUTHERS — Mary Lee Ann “Lee” McClure, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Masternick Memorial, surrounded by love and care.
Born on July 26, 1945, in Youngstown, Lee was the beloved daughter of the late Richard and Nancy Greco McClure. She attended Struthers High School and graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1963. With a passion for healing and service, she earned her nursing degree from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1966 and later became a certified registered nurse anesthetist in 1970.
Lee dedicated her life to nursing, serving in various hospitals and medical practices across the country. Her journey even brought her to the Navajo Nation, where she worked at Gallup Indian Medical Center, offering compassionate care to each patient. She concluded her distinguished career at the Cleveland Clinic, retiring after many years of tireless devotion to her patients.
A proud veteran, Lee served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander on Sept. 1, 1991. She remained committed to her call to serve throughout her life, even offering care and comfort to others during her days at Masternick.
Lee was a longtime member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Known for her faithful service, she regularly helped clean the church with a close-knit group of ladies — always followed by lunch and laughter. She was also a former member of the Youngstown Ski Club and cherished her friendships, especially with her dear friends Mary Lou and Jan.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, deep compassion, generous spirit and unwavering dedication to her family, friends and community.
Lee is survived by her brother, Mark A. (Patti) McClure of Struthers; nephews, Matthew (Abby) McClure and Michael (Michelle) McClure; great-nephews, Mason and Maverick McClure; great-niece, Maizey McClure; many cousins, including her close cousin, Paula; and countless friends who were touched by her warmth and care.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant brother, Ricky McClure.
A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas Church, 764 Fifth St., Struthers, OH 44471.
