Judith Pelletier 1942-2025

BOARDMAN — Judith Vitullo Pelletier passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Judy was born April 17, the only child of Henry and Julia Pitts Vitullo. Judy was raised on the south side of Youngstown. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.
After graduation, she was employed by the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County while attending Youngstown University.
While raising two small children, she was determined to fulfill her ambition to become a nurse. She worked as a medical assistant for area physicians to earn her tuition to attend Choffin School of Practical Nursing. After graduating, she was employed at Northside Hospital as a medical-surgical nurse and as an instrument nurse in surgery. She continued to be passionate about a nursing career and attended The University of the State of New York, Albany, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and continued her career as a Registered Nurse.
She returned to Choffin as a clinical nursing instructor at Northside and Southside Hospitals. She was also employed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health, Austintown Board of Education, Legacy Academy and several home health agencies as a case manager.
Judy was proud of her Italian heritage and continued to carry on the holiday and family traditions that were taught to her by her mother and aunts. She was an accomplished seamstress and made clothing for herself and her small children. She always managed to work on a small budget, but no one ever knew it. Always proud, never asking for help.
She leaves her two sons, Dr. Mark Pelletier (Pamela) of Columbia, South Carolina, and Jeffrey Pelletier, P.E., of Clermont, Florida; and grandchildren, Marco, Julia and Isabella Pelletier of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and several cousins who were like brothers and sisters to her.
Her motto: “Don’t let your age dictate what you can or cannot do.”
She worked as a Registered Nurse into her late 70s, deeply caring for each of her patients.
