Jared E. Lapin 1983-2025

CHICAGO — Jared Edgar Lapin, 41, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, June 1, 2025, while visiting his parents in Poland.
Born Oct. 4, 1983, in Cleveland, Jared was the cherished only child of John and Natalie Edgar Lapin.
Jared led a full, vibrant life that was tragically cut short. A true go-getter, he lived by the motto: “If you want something, you have to work and go for it.” And he did just that. A proud graduate and valedictorian of PSHS (Class of 2002), Jared went on to the University of Michigan, graduating cum laude in industrial engineering before embarking on a successful career, ultimately becoming a partner at Bain & Company, where he thrived and was proud to be a partner.
Jared was not only a gifted professional but also a deeply loyal friend and confidant. He held his friendships dear, always offering his time, presence and support. He traveled far and wide — India, Brazil, Hawaii, Italy — to celebrate his friends’ milestones. He even became an ordained minister, officiating three weddings of his dearest friends. His warmth and charisma built a lasting impact in every corner of his life.
A passionate Wolverine, Jared proudly marched in the University of Michigan Marching Band, performing at two Rose Bowls and an Alamo Bowl. “Go Blue!” was more than a cheer — it was part of who he was.
Jared was a world traveler and adventurer, exploring Africa, Alaska, Germany, the UK, France, Iceland and beyond. He was in the midst of planning a trip to Japan next month with friends. An avid skier, he took on slopes across North America and Europe. He embraced every challenge with focus and enthusiasm — including running both the 2023 and 2024 Chicago marathons. He was looking forward to running the 2025 Chicago Marathon with friends.
Above all, Jared was a loving and devoted son. Known for his quick wit, sense of humor, boundless compassion, intellect and the uncanny ability to say just the right thing, he will be missed deeply and remembered always. His parents fondly recall how every conversation ended with love:
“Jared, we are so very proud of you, and we will love you forever.”
“I love you too,” he would always reply.
He is survived by his loving parents; his aunt and uncle, Tonalee and Jim Frame; his aunt, Sally Lapin; uncle, Carl Merritt; cousins, Jason and Liat Frame, and their children, Alex, Tyler and Sloan; along with many other extended family members and dear friends around the world.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tila and William Edgar, John “JL” and Irene Lapin; and his aunt, Sandy Lapin Merritt.
Jared’s final gift was through LifeBanc — offering others the gift of life and a second chance through organ donation.
Memorial contributions in Jared’s memory may be made to LifeBanc, P.O. Box 933379, Cleveland, OH 44193, or online at www.lifebanc.org/give.
A private family service will be held and a celebration of life at Ann Arbor will be announced at a later date.
