James W. Palko Sr. 1941-2025

He was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of William G. and Bernice Rhel Palko.

Mr. Palko, a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading books about history and especially the Civil War.

His wife, the former Donna Jean Zadravec, whom he married Sept. 4, 1965, died Oct. 12, 2012.

He leaves a son, James W. Palko Jr., and his companion, Sharon Ketterer of West Middlesex, Pa.; and a brother, William Palko, and his wife, Judy of Sheffield Lake.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna; an infant daughter, Lea Ann Palko; daughter-in-law, Kristine Sandberg Palko; and a brother, John Palko.

Family and friends may call 11 a.m. to noon Monday June 9, 2025, at Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at noon Monday at the funeral home, with Deacon John Bartos officiating.

Interment will be in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
