David E. Balint 1963-2025

WOOSTER — David Edward Balint, 61, died Friday, June 20, 2025, at Aultman Canton Hospital, after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 9, 1963, in Blue Island, Illinois, to Edward P. and Elizabeth “Betty Lou” Kish Balint. On May 15, 1993, he married Marilyn Wirt. She survives.
Dave graduated from Waynedale High School in 1981 and Youngstown State University in 1986 with a degree in computer science.
He was an IT Technical Specialist for Huntington Bank. Dave was a member of Plain Lutheran Church.
Dave was a devoted father, loving husband, supportive big brother and faithful child of God. Every aspect of his personality and life were reflected in those roles — as a ballet dad helping with his daughter’s “Nutcracker” productions; a talented musician who let the beauty of God flow through his fingers while playing the church organ and piano; the family patriarch who organized beach house vacations and cooked burgers and hot dogs at summer gatherings; the golfer who enjoyed playing rounds with his brother, although the sport could humorously test his patience; and the philosopher who would share his advice and opinions while sipping bourbon on the porch of his home.
His hobbies and interests were many, including rail fanning, reading nonfiction, bird watching, astronomy and ham radio. He also made people laugh and smile with his quirky sense of humor.
Along with his wife, Marilyn, Dave is survived by his daughter, Lauren Balint of Los Angeles, California; father, Edward of Wooster; siblings, Peter Balint and Kristen (Scott) Halpin, both of Wooster, and Edward (Traci) Balint of Akron; nieces and nephew, Bradac Halpin and Elissa Halpin, both of Wooster, and Paige Balint of Akron.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, with Pastor Rob Moskowitz officiating.
Interment will follow in Plain Cemetery.
Friends will be received 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
