William J. Miller 1932-2025

CANFIELD — William Joseph Miller passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, on his 72nd wedding anniversary.

Mr. Miller was born in Dubois, Pa., the son of George and Margaret Keenan Miller. The family moved to Youngstown when he was 4 years old.

He attended Ursuline and Rayen high schools and Youngstown College.

William married June Louise Borak in 1953, and together they owned and operated Miller’s Casual Living for over 42 years.

He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, where he was stationed in Germany and France.

Mr. Miller was a member of St. Brendan Church for over 60 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as treasurer.

Surviving is his wife and his children, Nancy (Landon) Colquitt, Susan (Stuart) Smith, Kelly (Brian) Meenachan and William K. Miller.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Schuyler, Brennan, Brooke, Ryan, Mackenzie, Courtney and Maranda; and seven great-grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters-in-law, Virginia “Babe” Burwig and Emmalyn Borak; and cousin, Jim Callaghan; plus many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Bob, Bundy and Dutch.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 (his 93rd birthday), at St. Brendan Parish, 2800 Oakwood Ave., Youngstown, OH 44509.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 970 Windham Court, Ste. 9, Boardman, OH 44512; or Youngstown Veteran Affairs Clinic, 1815 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH 44504, VAMC GPF 1222 Youngstown Food Pantry Attn: Lori Stone.
