Thomas J. Fleming 1941-2025

YOUNGSTOWN – Thomas “Cub” Joseph Fleming passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Omni Manor Nursing Home in Youngstown, with his son Jim by his side.

Born Feb. 14, 1941, in Youngstown, to Paul and Helen Baeszler Fleming, he attended St. Edward School and graduated from Ursuline High School, Class of 1959. He was a graduate of Youngstown State University, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity.

Tom worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Lyden Oil Company, Travelers Insurance and as a driver for area car dealers later in life.

He was formerly married to Patricia McCabe Fleming and they had one son, James Patrick Fleming. He leaves his son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Katie York Fleming; grandson, Robert Fleming; siblings, Catherine Fleming, Paul Fleming, Michael (Mary Beth) Fleming and Al (Suzanne) Fleming; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Jane Thompson.

He was an avid sports fan (Go, Irish!) and known for his incredible memory. You would never want to go against him in a game of Jeopardy at the Golden Dawn.

The family will receive relatives and friends 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 23, 20225, at St. Edward Church, 240 Tod Lane, immediately followed by a 4:30 p.m. Mass, celebrated by the Very Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Ursuline High School, 750 Wick Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505.
