Ryan L. Wenger 1989-2025

LORDSTOWN — Ryan Lee Wenger, 36, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
Born on March 15, 1989, in Warren, Ryan was the beloved son of Ginny Franklin Weaver. He graduated from Lordstown High School in 2007 and went on to earn his associate degree in accounting from Trumbull Business College.
He was employed at Premier Bank.
He found joy in the simple things — spending time with his dog, Scooby Doo, watching sports and being with his family. A devoted Cleveland Browns fan, Ryan often joked, “It’s hard to be a Browns fan,” yet he remained loyal through every season. He also admired the legacy of Michael Jordan and had a deep appreciation for all things sports-related. More than anything, Ryan will be remembered for his empathy, kindness and generosity. He had an innate ability to care for others.
He will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Ginny (Bob) Weaver of Champion; his brother, Michael (Hannah) Shaffer of Lordstown; his sister, Allyson Wenger; and his stepbrothers — whom he loved and considered his own brothers — Scott Shaffer of Sharon, Pa., Rob Rose of Warren, Josh Weaver of Warren and Breydon Weaver of Champion. He also leaves behind three nieces, two nephews, several aunts, an uncle, his maternal grandmother, paternal grandmother and many dear friends.
Ryan was preceded in death by the man he lovingly called “Dad,” Steven Shaffer; and by his grandfather, Jerald Franklin.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Lane Funeral Homes Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, OH. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
