Peter S. Frank Sr. 1939-2025

POLAND — Peter S. Frank Sr., 86, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 18, 2025, surrounded by his family, from complications from pulmonary fibrosis.

Pete was born May 10, 1939, at the family’s residence on the West Side of Youngstown. He was the third child of seven born to Franklin “Tobe” and Mildred Snyder Frank. The family spent time in Erie, Pa., and Barberton, where Pete graduated from St. Mary’s High School. The 10 years in Barberton were a happy time for the family.

After high school, Pete attended Xavier University in Cincinnati and worked for Isaly’s Dairy Company in Downtown Youngstown. He graduated from Youngstown University in 1964 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

His first job after graduation was in the accounting department at BF Goodrich Co. in Cleveland. He then returned to the Youngstown area to accept employment with Hill, Barth & King, CPAs. While at HBK, Pete obtained his CPA certificate and was extremely fortunate to meet his wife, the former Carol Ann Sudol.

From 1973 to 1997, Pete worked for the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation. He remained friends with many of his co-workers.

In 1998, Peter came out of retirement to join B.J. Alan Phantom Fireworks Inc. He stopped working, due only to his health condition, in 2024.

Pete and Carol were married Sept. 23, 1972. They shared 52 years of marital bliss and raised a happy family. He took an interest in his children’s activities and enjoyed trips to the Super Bowl, Walt Disney World and Marco Island together.

Pete was a member of Poland’s Holy Family Church for the past 50 years. He was an active parishioner, served as an usher, and was a member and served as an officer of Knights of Columbus Council #15573.

Peter is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Peter Frank Jr. of Poland, Jason (Lauren) Frank of North Ridgeville, Kristen (Keith) Miller of Canfield and Julie Frank of Poland; a granddaughter, Maren Miller, who brought him much joy; his siblings, Beverly Welsh, Franklin “Butch” Frank, Jeanette “Jenny” Drahuschak, Harry Frank, Mildred “Mij” (John) Zidian and Timothy (Jennifer) Frank; sister-in-law, Cathy Sudol; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his in-laws, John and Evelyn Sudol; sisters-in-law, Sandra Frank and Diane Frank; and brothers-in-law, John Sudol Jr., Martin Welsh and Richard Drahuschak.

As we say farewell to Peter, we honor a well-loved man. His kindness and friendly demeanor led him to form lasting relationships and his presence will leave a void in the hearts of those who loved him.
