Michael J. Bergman 1961-2025

He was born Aug. 15, 1961, in Struthers, son of the late Thomas and Lillian Sunjic Bergman. Michael was a graduate of Struthers High School, Class of 1979. In 2013, Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University in business administration / management.

He loved playing pool, throwing darts and collecting coins.

Michael is survived by his brothers, Thomas (Natalyn) Bergman and John (Linda) Bergman; his brother-in-law, George Markulin; and nieces and nephews, Brad, Ashley, Ryan, Grace, Rebecca, Pamela, Kristina and Andrea.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Margaret Bergman Markulin, preceded Michael in death. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc., Struthers.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest in St. John Cemetery in Lowellville.

In place of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Michael’s memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at Austintown Healthcare Center and Heartland Hospice for their support and care of Michael.
