Mary Jane Lilly 1937-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Mary Jane Lilly, 87, of Austintown, passed away Thursday morning, May 22, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Mary Jane was born Aug. 14, 1937, a daughter of Gennaro and Nonciata Bossi Santangelo, and was a lifelong area resident.

Mary Jane was a 1955 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and went on to work as a medical secretary for Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital, and then for Dr. Greg Bogan, from where she retired.

Mary Jane loved to play bingo and enjoyed going on many casino trips with her sisters and friends. She liked to crochet, play games on her tablet, was an avid reader and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians / Guardians. Most of all, Mary Jane loved and cherished spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Mary Jane will always be remembered by her daughter, Rita Evans (Ron Harapcio) of Austintown, with whom she made her home; sons, Wayne (Lynn) Lilly Jr. of Youngstown and Michael Lilly (Jamie Nichole Comar) of North Carolina; ex-daughter-in-law, Jackie Lilly; grandchildren, Ron (Heather) Evans Jr. of Youngstown, Ryan (Nicole) Evans of Virginia, Rachel Evans of North Carolina, Vincent Lilly of Youngstown, and Madison, Logan, Jordan and Dawson Lilly of North Carolina; step-grandchildren, Michael (Trish) Greene of Youngstown and Ashley (Jessica) Greene of Niles; great-grandchildren, Halen, Aubree, Ryleigh, Lyla, Hayley, Ellie, Piper and Gavin; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynda Lilly; grandson, Joseph Shura; sisters, Bianca “Blanche” Ventresco and Nerina Donatelli; and brothers, Augustino and Victor Santangelo.

Per her request, no services are being held.
