Marilyn C. Hall 1944-2025
CANFIELD — Marilyn Catherine Suchora Hall, 80, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated registered nurse, went to join her beloved husband, James, and family in Heaven on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Born Aug. 2, 1944, Marilyn was the middle child in a family of five children born to Stephen and Mary Witkiewicz Suchora in Youngstown. Marilyn was raised Catholic, attending St. Dominic Elementary School, and graduated in 1962 from Cardinal Mooney High School. She continued her education and graduated from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, becoming a registered nurse. She studied at St. Louis University before returning to work at Youngstown area hospitals.
In school, she was always at the top of her class and recognized by honor societies. She also took courses at Youngstown State University.
She was the school nurse at Ursuline High School and taught health classes. Marilyn was later certified in geriatrics and worked for 22 years at Assumption Nursing Home. She finished her career working for a private medical practice.
Marilyn met her husband Jim at Mooney. They connected years later and married at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown on Thanksgiving 1968.
Marilyn was a loving wife and mother, raising four children while working full time and caring for aging relatives. She was the ultimate caregiver.
She enjoyed Cleveland Browns football, listening to The Beatles and the Rolling Stones, spending time with family and was an animal lover.
Marilyn enjoyed the community at The Addison of Cornersburg. Her family is grateful for the care she received while residing there.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Genevieve and Theresa.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Chris (Michelle), Tim, Mary (Todd) and Patrick (Jillian); and her grandchildren, Aidan, Vivian, James, Aislin, Donovan, Cecelia, Chloe, Landon, Owen and Gerrit. She is also survived by her siblings, Stephen and Stacia.
Family and friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025, at Lane Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at St. Michael Roman Catholic Parish, Canfield.
In lieu of flowers the family requests charitable donations in Marilyn’s name go to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
