Margaret E. Deley 1947-2025

POLAND — Margaret E. Deley, 77, passed away peacefully Friday, April 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Nov. 25, 1947, daughter of Josef and Margareta Kilian Habenschuss in Schwaz, Tirol, Austria. She came to the United States with her family in 1952 through Ellis Island. She did not speak English when she began school, but through hard work and dedication, she not only learned English but became a spelling bee champion in her class.

She graduated from Struthers High School and continued her education by earning her bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University.

She was independent, hardworking and full of energy. Known for being stubborn in the best way, she built a life around family, friends and her many interests. She loved her grandchildren deeply, enjoyed traveling, dancing, good food and was an avid reader. A lifelong collector, she had a knack for finding unique treasures everywhere she went.

Her career was important to her — working as an accountant and serving as the business manager for Trumbull Radiologists Inc. until she retired in 2013.

She stayed active, walking in her flip flops two miles a day to polka music and participating in activities — cultural events, bingo and cards — at The Inn at Poland Way with friends who enriched her life with laughter and companionship.

Friendship was constant in her life, especially with the JUGs, “Just Us Girls,” a group formed in sixth grade that she traveled and shared many adventures with throughout her life. She was described as a wonderful, intelligent and fun-loving woman with so much spirit and vitality.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Anthony (Elizabeth) Deley of Youngstown, Colleen Deley of Youngstown and Renee (Tracy) Deley-Mahan of Norton, Massachusetts; her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as Opie Do, Tori (Noah) James, Kamri Deley, Spencer and Quinn Deley-Mahan; her siblings, Josef (Ana) Habenschuss of Pinecrest, Florida, Ilse Habenschuss of Glendale, Arizona, and Frederick (Cinda) Habenschuss of Thornville; along with many nieces and nephews. She was loved by her family and will be remembered for the full, lively life she led.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In accordance with Marge’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at The Inn at Poland Way and Patriot Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Marge in her time of need.

Donations may be made in her memory to the National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc., 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH, 44195.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman. Please visit www.beckerobits.com to send the family condolences and share your memories.
