Loretta Mills 1956-2025
LIBERTY — Ms. Loretta “Teet” Mills, 68, of Liberty Township, transitioned to eternal peace Thursday, April 29, 2025, at her home.
Loretta, lovingly known as “Teet,” was born Dec. 30, 1956, in Youngstown, a daughter of David L. Richardson Sr. and Albie Marie Cross Mills. She attended Girard City Schools and was a graduate of Youngstown State University in 2019 with an Associate of Arts degree in education.
She worked as a nursing aide at Omni Manor Nursing Home for many years and was a full-time caregiver to her granddaughter, Tabri, whom she reared with love.
She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church and dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“Teet” loved cooking, shopping, walking and spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. She was a member of the Girard City softball championship team, “The DJ’s,” and played left field … no ball hit her way … got away. She also played on the City of Girard volleyball team.
She leaves to mourn her passing, but to celebrate her life and legacy, her children, Sean Mills of Austintown, Tameesha Mills of Youngstown, Vernon (A’Jaya) Mills of Girard and Chenelle (Jemar) Lewis of Elyria; 17 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her siblings, Mayola Mills and Shelley Langston Richardson, both of Youngstown, Lillian Mills and Michael Mills, both of Girard, Wanda Mills of Brooklyn, New York, Earl (Cheryl) Richards of Campbell, Leonard (Cynthia) Richardson of Dayton and Pete Richardson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a host of family and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Honey Mills and Zhurie Mills; a grandson, Sir Jovohn Mills; her siblings, Darla Adams, Marie Hobby Tonya Richardson, Jesse Mills, Robert Mills Jr., David “Butch” Richardson Jr., James “Preacher” Richardson, Curtis and Clifford Richardson; and an aunt who was like a sister, Francis Mills Brame.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church, 1812 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown. A celebration of her life will follow at 11 a.m.
