Linda M. Yencha 1949-2025

SALEM — Linda Marie Yencha, beloved wife, mother, sister and educator, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center in Columbiana, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born Oct. 31, 1949, in Youngstown, to the late Roy D. DeLauter and Virginia Smith DeLauter, Linda spent her life enriching the lives of those around her with her warmth and dedication.
A graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School in 1968 and Youngstown State University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Linda committed her life to the growth and development of young minds.
On June 16, 1973, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship with her devoted husband, John Yencha.
Linda’s spirit lives on through her cherished sons, Michael and Jason Yencha; her dear sisters, Suzanne (Jim) Kerr and Virginia L. DeLauter; and the fond memories shared with her late brother, Richard DeLauter.
A tireless participant in the community, Linda was a proud member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she found strength and solace in her faith. Her creative spirit blossomed through her love for crafts, and she remained an avid bowler, participating in numerous tournaments, demonstrating not just her competitive edge but also her zest for life. She was also an avid fisherman.
Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, at Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in New Springfield Cemetery.
