John G. Kramer 1932-2025

BOARDMAN — John George Kramer passed away peacefully, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Briarfield Place in Boardman.

He was born June 15,1932, the son of the late John and Mary Kramer.

John grew up on the West Side of Youngstown, a 1950 graduate of Chaney High School.

He married Margaret Gonci Kramer on May 16, 1956. Sadly, Margaret passed away Sept. 4, 2021.

John joined the Navy, where he learned sheet metal mechanics.

After his service, he became an apprentice in sheet metal mechanics, where he worked for his entire career.

He was a member of Catholic War Veterans John J. Buckley Post 1292 and was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union.

He enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and was an avid bird watcher

He was a lifelong Catholic and parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish-St Matthias Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.

John leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Dr. Daniel J. (Julie) of Valrico, Florida, and Jack (Coleen) of Las Vegas, Nevada; son-in-law, Rob Ariza of Boardman; his grandchildren, Kaitlin (Andy) O’Malley, Haley Kramer, Megan Kramer and Jordan McDede; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Margaret; his daughter, Linda; his brother, Bernie (Lucille); his sister, Irene (Rudy) Hudak; his brother-in-law, Robert (Mary) Gonci; and brother-in-law, Andrew Gonci.

Family and friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Kubina-Yuhasz-Wasko Funeral Home, 5925 Market St., Boardman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish-St. Matthias Church, celebrated by the Rev. John Jerek.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife..
