Joanne M. Winn 1937-2025

She was born June 10, 1937, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Joanne was an avid quilter and entrepreneur. She opened the Quilt Basket quilt shop in Patterson Township, Pa., in the 1980s. She also taught quilting all over the country. She was one of the founding members of Beaver Valley Piecemakers.

She established Canada Goose Designs, a business focused on creating quilt patterns and digital embroidery designs. Alongside her daughter, Kathryn Ramey, she operated a long-arm quilting business.

Joanne was a woman of faith and a former member of Chippewa United Presbyterian Church.

Joanne will be greatly missed by her family: daughter, Suzanne McMasters of Hopewell, Pa.; son, Michael (Donna) Winn of Monaca, Pa.; daughters-in-law, Debbie Winn of Hamilton, Ontario, and Dawn Spybey-Winn of Blind River, Ontario; grandchildren, Veronica, Cameron, Emily (Joshua), Matthew, Aaron, Zachary and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Austin, Hayley, Cali, Kingston, Lola, Braden, Aidan, Mia and Theo; and nephews, Jeffrey and Bradley.

Joanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank “Bob” Winn; son, Craig Winn; daughter, Kathryn Ramey; brothers, David Copeman and Paul Copeman; and son-in-law, John “JD” McMasters.

Per Joanne’s wishes, there will be no services.

The family would like to thank the Blackburn Home, The Inn at Poland Way and Patriot Hospice for their exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to Patriot Hospice, 986 Tibbetts Wick Road, Girard, OH 44420.
