Joan R. Shea 1953-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Joan R. Shea, 71, passed away peacefully, May 7, 2025, in Florida.
Born on Sept. 30, 1953, in Sharon, Pa., she lived a life rich in experiences and dedication, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
Joan served as a service writer for over 30 years at Donnell Ford, where her professionalism and commitment to her work earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike. She was a graduate of Brookfield High School and attended Ohio University where she was president of her sorority.
Joan was surrounded by family, who brought immense joy to her heart. She is survived by her daughters, Megan Shea and Caitlin Shea; as well as her cherished grandsons, Jack Shea and Damien Smith. Joan is also remembered fondly by her sister, Vicki Gerguric; and her brother, Bill (Joanne Meizlish) Gerguric. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law who will carry her memory with them.
Joan had a variety of interests that enriched her life. She was an avid bowler and golfer, enjoying both pursuits with enthusiasm. She enjoyed visiting her sister in Florida.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tim Shea, whom she married Sept. 3, 1977, and who died Nov.15, 2012; and her parents, John and Gene Gerguric.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation in Joan’s honor from 4 to 7 p.m. on May 23, 2025, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, located at 4303 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, OH 44515.
Joan R. Shea will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, unwavering love for her family, and her dedication to her career. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
