Jane L. Fretlose 1928-2025

GILBERT, Arizona — Jane Louis Fretlose, 96, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona where she resided for the past five years.
Born May 5, 1928, in Youngstown, Jane was known for her warm heart, creative spirit and quiet strength that touched all who knew her.
She was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Jane is survived by her loving brother, Dennis Remita (Marsha Remita); and her beloved daughters, Lorri Lawson (James Lawson), Denise Davidson (Tom Davidson) and Patrice Brian (Michael Brian). She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Jessica Green, Andrea Williamson, Charlie Snyder, Laura Davidson, Mathew Brian and Christian Brian; and great-granddaughter, Avery Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fretlose, whom she married April 22, 1950; her parents, Steve and Julia Remita; her twin sister, June Bailey; and her brother, Kenneth Remita.
Jane spent her younger years as a hairdresser helping many women feel confident. She also spent her later years working for Mr B’s catering, where she took great pride in helping create memorable events for her community. Beyond her work, Jane had many passions: she was a talented flower arranger and avid golfer, and found joy and peace in the art of crochet.
Family and friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m.
Her gentle kindness, love for family and creative energy leave a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
