Harry E. Mitchell 1944-2025

POLAND — Harry Edwin Mitchell, 81, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, with his family by his side and in spirit.
Harry was born Feb. 2, 1944, to parents Harry and Alma Mitchell. He grew up in Canfield, graduating from Canfield High School in 1962.
Later in life working for numerous aluminum extrusion companies before owning his own extrusion company, Excel Extrusions, and then retiring while continuing to consult for BRT Extrusions for 10 years. Harry was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Harry spent a lot of time at Lake Milton on his boat, his home away from home. He was happy to share his lake life with his wife and their dog, Bella, children, grandchildren and great-grandson. As an avid fisherman and boater, he taught them how to fish, took them swimming and tubing, and sometimes to just enjoy a relaxing day on the water.
If you couldn’t find him on his boat, you might find him on the golf course, another of his favorite recreations. When he wasn’t on his boat, he was traveling the world. He had a special passion and love for cruising. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, family and friends, participating in new adventures and introducing his grandkids to all the joys the world had to offer.
Besides his family and friends, Harry had a special love for his dog, Bella, who very quickly became a large part of his life.
Harry is survived by his wife, Tina Mitchell of Poland; his daughter, Kelly (Gary) Peck of Austintown; his son, Dean (Karen) Mitchell of Seven Hills; his stepson, Thomas (Jessica) Hughes of Moseley, Virginia; his grandchildren, Kayla (Phillip) Purdy, Gary Peck, Jamie (Abbey) Mitchell, Grace Mitchell, Addison Hughes, Jackson Hughes, Owen Hughes and Ainsley Hughes; his great-grandson Zander Peck; his sisters, Sharyn Staffery of Canfield and Carolyn Newell of Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Curtis Mitchell; and his brother-in-law, Leonard Staffery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, especially the MICU staff at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, for the comfort and compassion they provided to Harry and his family during this time.
Calling hours will be 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, and from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
