Dorothy M. Keirsey 1953-2025

LOWELLVILLE — Dorothy Marie Keirsey, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 9, 2025, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Dorothy was born May 24, 1953, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Rudy and Anna Ribarich Mazar. She was a 1971 graduate of Lowellville High School and a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley.
Dorothy began her career as a nursing aide at Northside Medical Center in Youngstown. After starting her family, she became a devoted homemaker, dedicating herself to raising her children and supporting her husband. She later returned to the workforce, working as a clerk in the shipping and receiving department at Youngstown State University for over 25 years, retiring April 12, 2019.
A woman of strong faith and compassion, Dorothy was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville. She was an avid gardener and had a special place in her heart for animals — always ready to care for and provide a home to any stray in need.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Michael L. Keirsey, whom she married Oct. 9, 1976; her children, Teresa L. (Joseph) Mazzocca of Campbell and Michael L.
