Donna A. Crowe 1942-2025
POLAND — Donna A. Crowe, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
She was born March 28, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late James and Ruth Fisher Echols.
She had a heart of gold and a mind that never stopped seeking. She worked as a general manager for more than 30 years at Industrial Tape until she decided to join her son in his medical practice, Crossroad Sleep Disorder, as his office manager. She didn’t necessarily know the job when she started, but she made it a point not only to learn the job but to master it. She left a lasting impression on some of the patients who often asked how she was doing long after she retired.
Her care for people wasn’t just professional — it was who she was. She often found those who were in need and made it her mission to lift them up, turning hardship into hope with every footstep.
Her thirst for knowledge was endless. She embraced technology with excitement, always eager to learn something new or find a better way of doing things. She was naturally curious, always asking questions, exploring ideas and diving headfirst into new challenges. That love of learning wasn’t just for herself but was part of how she connected with the world and shared her gifts.
Creative and expressive, she played the piano beautifully and lent her voice to choirs over the years, using music as another way to bring joy to others. She was a doer, never one to sit on the sidelines; she turned inspiration into action. Whether it was planning cross-country trips, weekend camping adventures, organizing a day at the beach or transforming a house into a home, she did it with thoughtfulness, care and creativity.
She made life better for everyone she met. She had no enemies, only friends. People loved her for her genuine kindness, her selfless approach to life and her quiet strength. In every situation, she rose to the occasion, working her way through life with capability, grace and an unwavering sense of purpose.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Julie A. Crowe and Stephen N. Crowe, both of Poland, and stepson Philip “Ty” T. Crowe Jr. of Newnan, Georgia; her grandchildren, Sarah Crowe, Hannah (Sonny III) Barnett, Abigail Crowe and Jay Crowe; and great-grandchild, Sonny Barnett IV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Philip T. Crowe, whom she married Sept. 5, 1964, and who passed away July 19, 2024. She has now been reunited with him in God’s Kingdom.
Friends will be received 5 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m.
Contributions may be made to the Animal Charities Humane Society, 8469 Southern Blvd., Building 3, Youngstown, OH 44514 in her memory.
