Debra Lisko 1956-2025

CANFIELD — Debra Lisko, 68, died peacefully Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 19, 1956, in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Jane Rehm Glatz.

A proud graduate of Catholic Central High School, Debra furthered her education by earning a bachelor’s degree in English from Youngstown State University. Her educational pursuits fueled her love for reading and music, hobbies that brought her much joy throughout her life.

Debra’s career began at Youngstown State University’s Maag Library, where she not only developed a passion for literature but also met her future husband, Michael Lisko Sr. They married on Sept. 2, 1978, building a life together that would be filled with love and laughter. Debra also dedicated many years to the Canfield Local School District as a substitute teacher.

Debra cherished her family, reveling in every moment spent with her children and took immense pride in her role as a grandmother. She was kind hearted and full of laughter, and certainly will be missed by all who knew her.

Debra is survived by her daughters, Laura Lisko (Jeff Lukas) of Poland and Paige A. Lisko (Katie Weaver) of Columbus; son, Dr. Michael J. (Jessica) Lisko Jr. of Columbus; four grandchildren, Nathan Mullins, Olivia Lukas, Jensen Lisko and Haley Lisko; and sisters, Patty (Edward) O’Kelley of Wilburton, Oklahoma, and Sharon (Ramon) Lopez of Portugal.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Michael Lisko, who passed away Jan. 20, 2017.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home-Boardman-Canfield Chapel, located at 3701 Starr’s Centre Drive, Canfield, OH 44406.

Prayers will begin at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Parish-St. Charles Borromeo Church, located at 7345 Westview Drive, Boardman, OH 44512.
