Debra Ann Ferrell 1959-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Ms. Debra Ann Ferrell, 65, transitioned to eternal peace, Friday, May 2, 2025.
Ms. Ferrell, affectionately known as “Debbie,” was born June 5, 1959, in Youngstown, a daughter of Augustus and Figare Jackson Ferrell. She was a 1977 graduate of North High School.
After completing high school, Debbie went on to the Air Force in 1978, where she received an honorable discharge.
Debbie was an ambitious and determined woman and furthered her education at Penn Ohio College, where she received an associate degree in applied science in 1994.
Debbie worked for over 25 years in medical records with Forum Health, retiring in 2016.
Although not a member of a church, Debbie was a God-fearing woman and attended Mount Gilead Baptist Church.
She loved searching for her family history / heritage with Ancestry.com. Among her many interests, Debbie enjoyed reading, thrifting, and watching crime shows and YouTube. All who knew Debbie knew that her sense of humor was unmatched. Her laugh was contagious and one of a kind.
Debbie was an avid fan of Keith Sweat. Her passion was being with her children and family. Oh yes, she loved cats (Booker T) and plants.
Debbie leaves to forever cherish her memories, her children, LaKeisha (Christopher) Cunningham and Tameika (Dwayne) St. Thomas, both of Youngstown, Ronnelle (Antuane) Ferrell and Shauntae Ferrell, both of Columbus, and Dre’Marcus (Serena) Ferrell of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; a great grandson; her lifelong companion, Duane Richburg of Youngstown; her siblings, Janyth Hobbs of California, Darrell Ferrell of Columbus, Jeanette Ferrell of Pittsburgh, Pa., Augustus Ferrell Jr., Fritz Ferrell, Jacqueline Moxley, Walter Ferrell, Benjamin Ferrell and Chavell Ferrell, all of Youngstown; and a host of loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six nephews, Kenneth. A. Bunn, Richard Sly, Keith Ferrell, Sylvester Ferrell, DaCarl Ferrell and Darrell Johnson.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the L. E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at noon Saturday at the funeral home.
