David D. Cappitte 1948-2025

Born Sept. 13, 1948, in Youngstown, he was the son of the late John and Susan Zupco Cappitte.

David was employed for seven years at Youngstown Sheet & Tube, nine years at American Steel Foundries and later retired from Winkle Magnetics.

On Jan. 2, 1971, he married the love of his life, the former Barbara Gentile. Together, they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.

David enjoyed tending to his garden, especially growing peppers and garlic. He also loved reading, watching Westerns and visiting casinos. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.

Being a devoted husband, father and grandfather was his greatest joy.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; daughter, Barbie (Jack) Neapolitan of Boardman; son, Davey Cappitte Jr. of Struthers; and stepgrandchild, Destiny Neapolitan. He is also survived by 12 siblings.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, John Cappitte Jr., and sister, Patty Sheeler.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will take place.

Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
