Daniel C. Coffey 1947-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Mr. Daniel C. Coffey, 78, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday April 30, 2025, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Caldwell, North Carolina, a son of the late Paul M. Sr. and Willie Mae Fullbright Coffey.

Dan worked as a metal assembler for General Motors in Lordstown for 35 years, retiring in 2005.

He enjoyed baseball and was an avid Mahoning Valley Scrappers fan. He also enjoyed comedy, especially Red Skelton, and researching his family’s history and genealogy. Dan’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and cheering for them at their various sporting events. He was a kind, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dan is survived by a son, Michael D. (Jennifer) Coffey of Wichita, Kansas. He also leaves behind three brothers, Paul Jr., Rick and Barry Coffey, all of North Carolina; five beloved grandchildren, Ashley (Zachary) Fellows of Cortland, Britney and Sarah Coffey of Wichita, Aaron Jackson of Cortland and Alivia Jackson of Howland; two great-granddaughters, Hollie and Genevieve; and a great-granddaughter soon to be born.

Besides his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a son, Quentin Coffey; three brothers, Benny, who died in infancy, Bill and Ronald Coffey; and three sisters, Doris Shinn, Tommy Jean Wagner and Trudy White.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, with Pastor Joel Theis officiating.

Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He will be laid to rest next to his son in Niles Union Cemetery.
